This textbook is designed as a one-year
English learning program for preschool learners. It consists of 12 thematic
months and 96 structured meetings, providing teachers with a practical and
progressive framework for introducing English to young children through
engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
The learning experiences in this book
combine vocabulary development, simple expressions, songs, movement, games,
storytelling, creative activities, classroom interaction, and show-and-tell.
Each lesson is designed to encourage children not only to hear and repeat
English, but also to use it while playing, moving, creating, and communicating
with others.
Throughout the program, children are
gradually introduced to English through familiar topics from their everyday
lives, including themselves, their families, homes, classrooms, toys, animals,
food, clothes, transportation, community helpers, places, nature, and the world
around them. The program also incorporates regular review, celebration,
show-and-tell activities, and portfolio development to make children’s learning
visible and meaningful.
